Engineering support from battery selection to production
Battery selection starts from the load the device presents, not from a model number.
Most battery problems in the field are selection problems: the cell was chosen by model number, not by the load the device actually presents. These are the questions engineers ask us most often.
Technical questions
What is the difference between a single ER cell and an ER + HPC configuration under RF pulses?
A single cell supplies both the standing load and the pulse from the same chemistry, so the terminal voltage falls during the pulse. A hybrid configuration lets a capacitor carry the pulse while the cell supplies average energy. Whether that difference matters depends on your peak current, pulse duration, frequency and cut-off voltage.
Why does the voltage drop during wireless transmission?
Because the pulse draws current faster than the cell can deliver it at the terminals. The device keeps working only if the voltage stays above its cut-off level.
A stored cell shows a delayed voltage — does that mean it is flat?
Not necessarily. A Li-SOCl₂ cell that has sat with little or no load can show a voltage delay the first time it is asked for a larger current. That is a different symptom from a cell that has no capacity left, and the two are told apart from the load history and the shape of the voltage curve rather than from a single reading. Tell us how long the device was stored or switched off before use, the current it then draws and the temperature, and we will review that case with you. A voltage delay is not assumed to be normal passivation.
I gave you the peak current — why do you also ask for pulse duration and frequency?
Peak current describes the height of the pulse, not its energy or how often it repeats. Duration and frequency decide whether the capacitor can recover between pulses.
Can ER cells be supplied with tabs, connectors, wire leads or in series/parallel?
Yes. Tabs, wire leads, connectors and series, parallel or series-parallel packs are all specified per project and confirmed on the drawing.
Can a pack be built to my drawing, including dimensions and connector?
Yes. Pack dimensions, cell orientation, leads and connector are confirmed against your drawing before production.
How are MOQ, sample charge, lead time and freight decided?
MOQ is confirmed on inquiry for each configuration, and lead time is confirmed in the quotation based on the configuration and the quantity. Samples are charged and carry no minimum order quantity, with freight paid by the customer. Payment is by T/T and terms are EXW, DAP or DDP as agreed per order.
Do you provide UN38.3, MSDS or other transport and compliance documents?
Documentation is confirmed per model and per order. Tell us the model and the destination and we will state exactly which documents are available.
What is covered by after-sales?
Quality issues within one year of purchase are handled by BELICELL. The way each case is handled follows the terms agreed for that order.
Do you work with OEM/ODM projects?
Yes. OEM and ODM projects are supported from engineering selection and drawing confirmation through sampling and mass production.
